Birthdays and such
With birthdays coming up this month and the next, I'm totally broke!
Celebrated A's and HS's 22nd the previous weekend with mahjong and a steamboat dinner at Suntec City's Joaquim.

Caught My Sister's Keeper with my sister last week. I've never read the book so I can't really compare (I heard it's a totally different ending), but it's a good movie. Some touching parts, some sad parts, some funny parts. It focuses mostly on Kate's memories and less on Anna.
"But she's your sister.."

My Sister's Keeper
4 out of 5 starsMy Taobao spree items have arrived and thankfully, the shoes fit me. :)
Also, I managed to organise and neatly label my BPAL collection during the weekend. And I couldn't resist buying these two BPAL decants last week. This is probably my last BPAL purchase this year. I swear!
LILITH VS. THE GIANT CRAB
Tangerine cream, benzoin, white sandalwood, white pear, tonka, and ambergris accord.
MLLE. LILITH, FORTUNE TELLER
Coconut and a bit of sugar with pomegranate, pink musk, orange blossom, cypress, honey myrtle, and incense.

Arcana Perfume Oils Reviews
Haint Perfume OilDescription: White musk, vanilla musk, Madagascar vanilla, sugarcane, and a faint trail of white pepper.
In the bottle: Sweet vanilla and sugarcane.
Wet: Sugarcane bursts out with more vanilla while white pepper peeks in.
Drydown: Subtle vanilla. The white musk makes it a pristine scent.
Overall: I love vanilla so it's no surprise that I love this. An alternative to one of my BPAL GC favourites, Antique Lace. :)
Sweet Box Perfume OilDescription: French cocoa absolute, white sugar crystals, wolfberry honey, butter CO2 extract, oatstraw, copaiba, milk thistle, a hint of patchouli, and the smallest wisp of woodsmoke.
In the bottle: Sweet buttery milk chocolate. Yum!
Wet: The honey and butter makes an appearance. The chocolate is less milky now. And there's a smoky note with patchouli.
Dry: The yummy chocolate turned into cocoa powder and it's more darker and smokier. It's not as sweet as before. *pouts*
Overall: I thought it would stay sweet but it morphed into a dark smoky scent. Edgy and unpredictable, I think this would be great for days when you want something to happen.
I'm slightly disappointed though. OMG, I realised that it reminded me of a scent that I've smelled before. And after a few hours of pondering, And it's smells exactly like Angel by Thierry Mugler!! ♥♥♥
Madame Lapin Perfume OilDescription: Fragrant notes of sweet honey, dry Atlas cedarwood, warm toast, buttermilk, and a subtle blend of spices.
In the bottle: Sweet honey and something else.
Wet: Honey and there's a woody scent.
Drydown: The honey smells delicious and there's a bit of spice to keep it from being too sweet.
Overall: This smells really good. It turns from sweet honey to a slightly darker woody scent.
Molly Malone Perfume OilDescription: Cotton candy, sea spray, green sugarcane, salt, pink musk, sweet bergamot, lily of the valley, black pepper, vanilla, patchouli, and the merest hint of aged vetiver.
In the bottle: I can't identify any individual scents but it's aquatic and I definitely smell sugarcane.
Wet: Aquatic sweetness.
Drydown: Salty aquatics with sweet musk and light florals.
Overall: It seems like a complex scent. Fresh and beach comes to mind with Molly Malone but I think it's too salty for my liking.

They're here!

I went to collect my Arcana goodies from Zhao Ying at Jurong West. She even threw in a free
Savor soap bar. And my bottled happiness smells awesome! ♥
I went exploring JP after that. It's really been a long long time since I've been there and it has changed so much. Well, fun times were spent there, hanging out with friends. :)
Then it was off to Toa Payoh to collect my ASOS items. I got surprised when I called the spree organiser and a deep guy voice answered. I always assume that spree organisers were mostly young and female. And recently, when I went to Chinatown to collect a couple of bracelets, the spree organiser was actually an auntie! A chinese lady in her 50s. I was pretty shocked at that one. o.0
So yes. Never assume all of the people online are young or female.

An impromptu shopping trip to VivoCity this afternoon resulted in a purchase on impulse.
Topshop Jewelled Ballet PumpBut it's so pretty!
And I'm broke.

I'm sooo looking forward to getting them! This time BPAL's updates are EVIL! They're killing my bank account. Perhaps it's because this year, I discovered the existence of decant circles and *bam!* money gone. Can you believe it? S$100 spent on them. Gah.
Okay, it's been awhile since I last updated. So last weekend activities include trying out golf and celebrating YP birthday with karaoke and dinner.
Golf was fun but tiring, learning a new sport and all. I think I'm just awkward with my hand/body coordination. LOL. R and I were learning while W was the
sensei. Ah, some people are just rich lah.
Celebrated YP's birthday at Teo Heng KTV at Katong Shopping Centre. A new and super cheap place. There's no snacks or drinks provided but you can bring in your own food. The room was pretty small for 6 people though. Dinner was at some restaurant at Parkway Parade.
Watched (500) Days of Summer at The Cathay on tuesday. I love how the days go by, going forward and backward, and the contrast between being together with Summer and after the breakup. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was just great in expressing his character's emotions on his sleeve. The happily together moments, the intensely hurting moments, well, it made me think back to those days.
